Two motorcyclists are in stable condition at area hospitals after a shooting shortly after 8 p.m. at a Circle K gas station in Leesburg.
The shooting, which occurred in the midst of BikeFest, which draws thousands of motorcyclists to Leesburg, took place between two motorcycle clubs, according to Leesburg police.
Both men appear to have been shot three times each, and one of the men was wearing a ballistic vest at the time of the shooting.
The shooting victims have been identified as 41-year-old David R. Donovan and 48-year-old Marc E. Knotts.
“The investigation remains open and active and detectives are following up on all incoming leads,” said Lt. Joe Iozzi.
The shooting took place at a station located at 3300 W. Main Street.
“I would like to reiterate that this was an isolated incident which occurred far outside the downtown venue area,” Iozzi said.
