Nellie Jean Elsenheimer, 84, of The Villages, FL, was born in to eternal life Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Born in Salem, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Wanda (Mathews) Lesh. Nellie Jean was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was there for her husband and children throughout all their endeavors. Nellie Jean was a licensed hairstylist and was employed by Montgomery-Ward as an inventory specialist. The most important role to her was as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She came to The Villages with her husband Richard from Cocoa Beach, FL in 2000. Nellie Jean was a communicant of St. Timothy Catholic Church and a member of the De La Vista Club, The Villages. She enjoyed cards, bocce, mahjong, and was an avid reader.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Richard J. Elsenheimer who passed on Saturday May 7th.
She leaves her children Robert H. Elsenheimer (Debbie) of Chatham, IL; Richard T. Elsenheimer (Raquel) of Houston, TX; Linda M. Prowse (Bill) of Margate, FL; Patricia A. Sims (Monte) of Lakeland, FL; Nancy Henshaw (Mike) of Hernando Beach, FL; Theresa E. Davo (Miguel) of Columbus, GA; 15 grandchildren; Amy Elsenheimer, Robyn Woolley, Michael Elsenheimer, Sherry Verburgt, Michelle Akinboyewa, Matthew Swenson, Michael Swenson, Amanda Buynak, Derrick Sims, Danielle Maxey-Holbert, Joshua Sims, Joseph Sims, Sarah Harden, Jacob Harden, Christina Davo; 13 great grandchildren, Cameryn Woolley, Cassen Woolley, Logan Verburgt, Chase Verburgt, Shylah Verburgt, Elleni Akinboyewa, Alina Akinboyewa, Frank Joseph Onorata, IV, Myla Sims, Eli Sims, Baylee Maxey, Ryan Holbert, Elaina Davo. She also leaves behind two brothers; Charles E. and Harry C. Lesh both of Port Orange, FL and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
