To the Editor:
My first visit to the new Wal-Mart at Colony helped me realize how much I appreciate Publix.
In my attempt to get five items in Wal-Mart, I experienced how rude the employees were to shoppers. The people stocking the shelves all but ran me over with their carts, blocked the aisles, and would not move to let me get items, but rather one told me to come back once he had finished.
At Publix they will assist you in every way they can, and will not only tell you where an item is, they will take you to it. If they are stocking the shelves and are in your way, they will move or get the item for you. Not at Wal-Mart.
I was in the self check out line, and before I could get to next open checkout, an employee pulled his cart up to it and started stocking the drink cooler, and told me to wait for another check out to open. I told the supervisor at the check out it appeared the attitude there was that the shoppers were in the way of the stockers, and she told me they were late in getting the supplies, and needed to get them out. Don’t think she cared if shoppers were pleased or not.
Thank you Publix for caring and being customer focused.
