New Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Villages looking to fill 95 jobs  

A new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market being built on County Road 466A in The Villages will be offering 95 jobs.

A temporary hiring center has opened at 2468 U.S. Highway 441, Ste. 203, in Fruitland Park. 

Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested applicants may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com. Most of the store’s new associates will begin working in September to help prepare for the grand opening.

According to Store Manager Carrie Brown, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates.

“We are so excited to begin building a team to serve the residents in The Villages,” said Brown.

Wal-Mart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates with a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Wal-Mart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to six percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly cash bonus based on store performance.

Last year, Wal-Mart promoted more than 15,000 of its associates in Florida to jobs with higher pay and more responsibility. In addition, more than 10,000 Florida associates were converted from part-time to full-time.

Wal-Mart will offer a job to any eligible U.S. veteran honorably discharged from active duty since the Veterans Welcome Home Commitment began on Memorial Day 2013.
