This is no longer Harold’s or Gary’s place

To the Editor:

A number of recent events have “tipped the hat” of where The Villages is headed in the future. We all should start connecting the dots to realize this is no longer Harold’s or Gary’s place. No longer is the philosophy of “everybody deserves a retirement” guiding the decision making. The new generation is all about business and nothing but profit. Try connecting these dots, the Developer just made $345 million to build the next “Villages” south of the turnpike but can’t contribute to fixing a bridge that only lasted 10 years. The “world’s healthiest hometown” is only as healthy as United Health Care’s bottomline. World class cancer treatment can be only a golf cart away… if you donate to the cause. Hope you are not waiting for your flu shot this fall at a recreation center near you because it is not happening. But keep the faith, we have a performing arts center and a black box theater. Just pray the family does not get bored with polo.
