No online registration for The Enrichment Academy?

To the Editor:

Registration was announced for the new Enrichment Academy (replacement for the LLLC). Regular registration starts Aug.3, then Aug. 7 for Villages residents, and Aug. 21 for non-residents.

I am a Villages resident, own a home, and am also a Florida resident.  I pay as many fees and taxes as year-round residents. I will not be in the area during any of these registration times.  My understanding is that online registration (or even registration by phone) will not be available until October. Every year, I have paid for and taken many courses from the LLLC. My experience, with the growth in population in The Villages, is that classes fill up very quickly. I am concerned that I will not have the opportunity to register for classes.

If more time is needed to develop a website, the catalogue could be put online (in pictures, not interactively) as well as an application form.  The application form could be (1) downloaded and mailed in with payment or (2) course selections made by phone with credit card. These choices would allow everyone equal access to registration.

I hope The Enrichment Academy reconsiders this registration process.  I contacted the Enrichment Academy when it was first advertised and was assured online access would be available.
