O. George Weisheit, Jr., 93, of The Villages, FL, retired U.S. Secret Service, passed away on Feb. 10, 2017 in The Villages, FL. Born on September 9, 1923 in Marshall, TX to Josephine Marie (Poiles) & Oscar George Weisheit, Sr. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Spickerman, whom he married in December, 1943, parents, sister, Peg and niece Laurel Bleau.
He served his country his entire adult life. Serving in WW II as Lt.(jg) in Naval Intelligence, followed by FBI for 5 years and the U.S. Secret Service serving presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford until he retired in 1974.
He attended Purdue University prior to the war, later graduating with BS in Education from Northern Illinois State Teachers College and a Master of Arts in Administration from Colorado State College of Education.
Survived by his two sons, Richard “Dick” of Dallas, TX and Jon (PhD) of Illinois and their spouses, Lynette and Janet; his grandchildren, Wes Weisheit and Kelsey Sinclair and her spouse Travis of Dallas and Krista Ladd and her spouse Chris of Illinois, and Lara Richmond and her spouse Brian (PhD) of New Jersey; niece Leslie Pecilunas of Ohio, and Bill Bleau of the Villages, as well as several great grandchildren and many friends and former agents.
Memorial service will be held in The Villages on Tuesday, Feb 14th at 11:30 a.m. at the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Sandwich, IL.
