Ocala man arrested in connection with theft of ring, necklace from Kohl’s

An Ocala man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with the theft of a ring and  a necklace from Kohl’s.

Brenton Barnett Howard, 25, was spotted by a loss prevention officer taking the items in the jewelry department and putting them into the pockets of his shorts, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He attempted to leave the store without paying for the items which were valued at $171.20.

Howard was arrested on a charge of retail petit theft and booked at the Lake County Jail.
