A 43-year-old Ocala man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after motorists reported an erratic driver Thursday night on Interstate 75 in Sumter County.

Brian Allen Beair had been at the wheel of a red Ford Mustang which had exited onto State Road 44 in Wildwood and was spotted by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.

When the deputy initiated a traffic stop, it appeared Beair had been drinking and had vomited on the steering wheel and himself.

He failed field sobriety exercises and provided breath samples that registered .153 and .147 blood alcohol content.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of DUI. Bond was set at $500.
