A 26-year-old Ocala man is facing a charge of attempted murder after law enforcement obtained a cell phone video of the alleged attack.

The video shows Martinez throwing a paving stone at the victim, striking him multiple times in his head and body, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. In the video, Martinez yells in Spanish at the  defenseless and obviously injured man who is now on life support. The attack occurred Monday at 11290 NW 20th Street in Ocala.

A Spanish-speaking deputy translated Martinez’s words, saying Martinez was telling the victim that he hopes he dies. The attack appears to be revenge for something that happened in the past.

Martinez is being held on $50,000 bond at the Marion County Jail.
