Ocala man extricated from pickup by firefighters after crashing into tree

A 29-year-old Ocala man had to be extricated from his pickup truck after it left the roadway and struck a wooden fence and tree at 3:25 p.m. Friday in Marion County.

Matthew Lambert had been eastbound on State Road 40 driving a 1986 Chevy pickup towing a boat trailer, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. At impact, the boat was thrown from the trailer and landed on the shoulder of State Road 40. Lambert was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center after being extricated from the vehicle by Marion County Fire Rescue.  He suffered serious injuries, the FHP report indicated.
