Ocala man reports theft of generator borrowed from neighbor

A generator that an Ocala man borrowed from a neighbor was reportedly stolen

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence located at 3121 SW 97th St. in reference to a report of a theft. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the man  who said he borrowed his neighbor’s 6500 watt generator valued at $550 about 10 days earlier. The man said the generator was taken from his back porch. He said he last saw the generator, secured by a metal link chain, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Deputies made contact with the generator’s owner via telephone. The victim advised he was currently in Colorado and that the man made him aware of the theft.
