Ocala woman dies as result of rear-end collision on U.S. Hwy. 441

A 61-year-old Ocala woman has died as the result of a rear-end collision Saturday afternoon on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Marion County.

Dorothy Choate had been a passenger in a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero driven by 36-year-old Daniel Len Kissner that was slowing down to make a right turn into a private driveway when the vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Lequanda Lamar-Pool, 38, of Ocala, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. She suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Kissner’s vehicle overturned twice due to the impact of the crash.

Choate was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center where she later died.

Kissner was seriously injured and also taken to ORMC. Lamar-Pool suffered minor injuries and was transported to the same hospital.

Golf course deserves a failing grade
