An Ocala teen was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly shooting his cousin multiple times over a card game.

Ocala police responded to a reported shooting at a residence on 410 NW 20th Avenue and found Zackary Johnson with gun shot wounds to the elbow and abdomen in the same bedroom as his cousin Tariq D. Douglas, 19, according to an Ocala Police Department arrest affidavit.  While being wheeled into surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment, Johnson told his mother what happened, who then told police that her son was involved in a verbal altercation with Douglas over a card game when Douglas shot Johnson, the report stated.

Police also spoke to Cedrick Pinkney, who advised that Johnson and Douglas were playing cards when Pinkney went to sleep, but woke up after hearing Johnson and Douglas fighting over the game and went to the bedroom to tell the two to stop. Pinkney then heard gunshots and witnessed Douglas with a black gun, the report stated.

Douglas was arrested on a charge of attempted murder and was transported to Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000.
