A 42-year-old Ocala woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle struck a utility pole.
Jill Ruiz had been driving a 2012 Kia Forte at 3:18 p.m. on SW 30th Street at SW 38th Avenue when she ran through a stop sign at a high rate of speed, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Her vehicle struck a large utility pole and then finally struck a Interstate 75 perimeter fence.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.  Â
