A 23-year-old Ocoee man was arrested Monday afternoon after traveling to Lake County for what he allegedly believed would be sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Jose Luis Rodriguez of 2403 Orosta Circle was nabbed in an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children operation after reportedly communicating with a person he believed was the aunt of a 13-year-old girl, telling the aunt that he was going to teach the minor sexual acts, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The exact location of the arrest was not released by the sheriff’s office.
The report stated that Rodriguez traveled to the girl’s home to engage in sexual activity, but was subsequently apprehended by law enforcement and was found with a condom in his wallet.
Rodriguez was arrested on two charges of traveling to meet a minor for sex and attempted lewd or lascivious battery. He was booked at Lake County Jail and released after posting a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled for arraignment Oct. 24.
