Officials to discuss responsibilities should another Hurricane Irma strike The Villages

A panel of officials will gather at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20  to review Villagers’ concerns stemming from Hurricane Irma.

Hurricane Irma has been called a “150 year storm.”

But what if it happens again?

The Neighbor to Neighbor group has assembled a panel of local officials who will take on this topic. They are:

• Josh Blake, Lake County commissioner

• David Casto, director Emergency Operations, Sumter County

• John Carpenter, director Emergency Operations Lake County

• John Longacre, The Villages Emergency Operations director

• Preston Bolin, Marion County Emergency Operations director

• John Molenda, assistant county manager, Lake County

The meeting will take place in the Paradise Recreation Center, Charlie Chaplin Room. Residents are welcome at the meeting.
