An Ohio man was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal a third laptop from Target at Rolling Acres Plaza.

Jeffrey S. Baxter, 57, who has been staying at the Rodeway Inn in Leesburg, entered the store at 10:55 a.m. Friday and selected an HP laptop valued at $229.99. He removed the security packaging and left the store with it, according to a warrant obtained by a Lady Lake Police Department detective. Baxter re-entered the store several minutes later and stole another HP laptop in the same manner.

Baxter returned to Target the following day and tried to steal a third laptop using the same manner, but was approached by the store’s loss prevention officer. Baxter abandoned his cart and fled the store. The loss prevention officer got the license plate number of a vehicle in which Baxter fled, ultimately leading to his arrest.

He was arrested on a charge of grand theft and booked at the Lake County Jail on $15,000 bond.
