A Village of Charlotte woman driving a Ford Mustang convertible was arrested early Sunday morning on a charge of driving under the influence.
Lenore Ann Casalino, 61, was driving at 12:05 a.m. on County Road 466A at Killingsworth Way when she attempted a U-turn and struck a curb, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy driving behind her noted that her vehicle was traveling at 20 miles an hour in a 45-mph zone and was not maintaining a single lane.
During a traffic stop, the New York native told the deputy her “shield” was in the back of her vehicle and that she was a former police officer.
When asked if she had been drinking, Casalino replied, “Yes, I had a few Mikes.”
She failed field sobriety exercises.
“Due to the defendant having a prosthetic leg and needing a cane to walk and stand, I did not conduct the one leg stand and the walk and turn field sobriety exercises,” the deputy wrote in his report.
She provided breath samples that registered .205 and .209 blood alcohol content.
She was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $2,000.
