Orlando motorcyclist killed in Marion County accident

An Orlando motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle collision Friday in Marion County.

Bryant S. Giannino, 46, was riding a 2008 Kawasaki Concourse14 at 12:10 p.m. on State Road 40 west of SE 183rd Terrace.

A truck driven by Robin J. Lemastus, 50, of Goshen, Kentucky, had stopped to make a left turn into a private driveway when Giannino apparently didn’t realize the truck had stopped and collided with its rear end, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Giannino was transported by Marion County Fire Rescue Medic 4 to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:25 p.m. that day.

Lemastus and a 15-year-old passenger in his vehicle, Jackie Lemastus also of Goshen, Kentucky, were uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation. The FHP report noted that Giannino wasn’t wearing a helmet.
