Oxford man arrested after allegedly punching woman in nose on Christmas Day

A 30-year-old Oxford man was arrested after he allegedly punched a woman in the nose on Christmas Day.

Eric Wayne Watson was arrested on a charge of battery after a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy was called to the scene after the altercation which began at 8:49 p.m.

The victim told the deputy that she and Watson began arguing at their residence on County Road 102 in Oxford.

Watson was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was held without bond.
