Oxford woman accused of stealing friend’s car

A 34-year-old Oxford woman was arrested Lake County sheriff’s deputies after she allegedly stole a car Wednesday.

Crystal Gayle Gordon is facing a charge of grand theft auto after she allegedly took her friends car shortly after 9 p.m., according to an LCSO arrest report.

Gordon told deputies she had simply gone to purchase cigarettes for herself and the car’s owner.

She posted $100 and was released after being booked at the Lake County Court. She is due Jan. 12 in Lake County Court for arraignment.
