Oxford woman held without bond on drug charge, probation violation

A 34-year-old Oxford woman was being held without bond following her arrest this weekend on a drug charge.

Rebecca Sue McKenzie, 34, was pulled over at 7:21 p.m. Saturday after being spotted on Powell Road near State 44 without having her headlights on, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

The police officer believed he smelled burning marijuana coming from the car and conducted a search which turned up a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

McKenzie was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession as well as probation violation.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
