Two people from Orlando have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a Wildwood hotel guest.
The man had been approached by Kenquieana Clark, 20, and Deontae Brown, 19, in the early morning hours Saturday in the hallway of the Economy Inn on E. State Road 44 in Wildwood, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Clark was able to remove the victim’s wallet from his pants pocket and stole the cash it had contained. After a brief struggle, the victim was able to break free from Brown and Clark and summoned law enforcement.
Brown was arrested on the day of the robbery on an out-of-county arrest warrant. The following day, both suspects were identified by the victim after viewing a photo line-up. He is facing charges of battery, false imprisonment and robbery. He was booked on $31,700 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
After being identified by the victim, Clark was located and arrested without incident on at about 6 p.m. Monday. She was arrested on charges of false imprisonment and robbery. Her bond was set at $10,500.
