Passenger killed in collision in Volusia County

A passenger was killed in a collision Wednesday evening in Volusia County.

Samuel Walters, 25, of Orange City was driving a 2003 Dodge pickup truck north on Woodland Boulevard, south of Firehouse Road, while 39-year-old Teresa Logsdon of Orange City was driving a 2016 Kia sedan west on Firehouse Road, east of Woodland Boulevard, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. Walters continued driving north on Woodland Boulevard and entered the intersection, colliding with the left rear of Logsdon’s vehicle, the report stated.

A 21-year-old passenger, Lindsey Logsdon, had been sitting in the left rear area of the Kia sedan and died as a result of the collision. The two drivers and another passenger in the Kia sedan, Madison Logsdon, were taken to Halifax Hospital for minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
