Two people were injured in a golf cart crash Monday morning at the Morse Boulevard roundabout.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Sumter County EMS and the Villages Public Safety Department responded to the scene of the accident

In 2014, Villager Larry Grimes called for change at the Morse roundabout after he was seriously injured when his golf cart was involved in an accident at the same location. He suffered  a concussion and three fractured ribs. He said the large, heavy bollards, intended to prevent misguided automobile drivers from entering the multi-modal path, were a danger to golf carts.

Villager Larry Grimes stands by the steel post with which his golf cart collided in 2014.

He called for their replacement with the white pliable bollards seen at other locations in The Villages.
