THE VILLAGES – Paul Barnes, 73, passed from this life Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Born in Hyden, KY Paul was the son of the late John and Mary (Sizemore) Barnes. Paul was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an aircraft maintenance control specialist retiring from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He continued his career with the Air Force in civil service.
Paul came to The Villages from Oklahoma City, OK in 2007. He enjoyed country music and golf. He was most proud of his marriage to his wife Pat and being successful in life.
He leaves his wife, Pat (McCoy) Barnes, daughter, Sherry Barnes (Rob) of Corpus Christi, TX, sons, Paul D. Barnes (Natalie) of Austin, TX, John H. Barnes (Rhonda) of Odessa, TX , a sister, Margie Ledford of Oneida, KY, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 2 to 4 PM followed by a Prayer Service at 4 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Villages Regional Hospital.
