Paul McCartney and Hillary Clinton

Tony Violanti

Paul McCartney not only endorsed Hillary Clinton – the one-time Beatle danced with her.
McCartney is one of the most ardent show business supporters for Clinton in her Democratic bid for the presidency.
Sir Paul played at a Clinton fundraiser in late August that raised millions of dollars.
McCartney was the star attraction at the home of Jimmy Buffet. The two singers were joined by Jon Bon Jovi in a medley of songs.
Sir Paul did a set that included, “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “Lady Madonna.” He was joined by Bon Jovi and Buffet on a version of “Hey Jude.”

Later in the evening, McCartney stepped on the dance floor and did a few steps with Hillary, according to press reports.
McCartney came out big for Clinton earlier this year and tweeted out a picture of the two of them with the words, “She’s With Me.”
Sir Paul is not the only performer going against Donald Trump.
The list includes:
Cher, who said of Trump: “America means nothing to him. He wants to be the king…”
Bruce Springsteen on Trump: “He knows he’s going to lose. And he’s such a flagrant, toxic narcissist that he wants to take down the entire democratic system with him if he goes.”

Neil Young doesn’t want Trump to use his song, “Rockin’ In the Free World” at rallies. Young played the song on stage recently, and added a lyric featuring two words directed at Trump (hint: It wasn’t “you’re fired”).
Madonna: “Vote for Hillary. She’s the best we got!”
Other, more contemporary artists for Clinton include: Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Eminem, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry.
Trump has his celebrity supporters, too. Alec Baldwin, as Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” described them this way: “I’ve got the cream of the crop: Sarah Palin, Chachi and the best of the Baldwin Brothers –Stephen.”
The list is longer for Hillary but the biggest name for baby boomers is McCartney. Sir Paul inspired me to put a couple of Beatle playlists on my phone. One is called “Hillary” and the other “Donald.”
Here’s my “Donald” playlist:
“I’m A Loser”: ‘Nuff said

“Piggies”: What Donald calls Miss Universe

“Bad Boy”:  What they call you after nearly a dozen women claim sexual assault.

“I Should Have Known Better”: Than to talk on a bus with Billy Bush

“Do You Want to Know a Secret”: Donald’s tax returns

“Helter Skelter”: Donald’s campaign

“Octopus’s Garden”: One of Donald’s female accusers said he was “like an octopus…his hands were everywhere.”

“Back in the USSR”: With Donald’s dictator pal Vladimir Putin.

“I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party”: Tell it to Paul Ryan.

“I Want to Hold Your Hand”: And grab your….
“Nowhere Man”: Donald Trump on Nov. 9
Here is my “Hillary” playlist:
“She’s A Woman:” Former First Lady — First Woman President.
“All You Need Is Love:” And it trumps hate.
“Come Together:” To unite America
“Getting Better”: Check out the polls

“With A Little Help From My Friends”: Of all colors, religions, races and creeds

“I Feel Fine”: Sorry Donald, she had pneumonia but is all better
“Blackbird:” McCartney has said this song is about female civil rights: “This is a song from me to a black woman, experiencing these problems in the States: ‘Let me encourage you to keep trying, to keep your faith, there is hope.'”
“She Said She Said”: Check out the debates
“Let It Be”: Whether Trump accepts it or not, this election will provide an answer — let it be.
