Police contacted after dating relationship with Villager found through dating site grows troubling

A Lady Lake woman contacted police after receiving disturbing text messages from a Villager she met on the online dating site Plenty of Fish.

The 50-year-old woman told Lady Lake police she met the 58-year-old Village of Silver Lake man through the dating site and they had a relationship for about a month. But she broke things off after he started having mood swings and they began fighting a lot, according to an incident report from the police department. She blocked him on the Plenty of Fish site and on her phone. She said he had also threatened to commit suicide.

He continued to try to contact her and she feared he would show up at her place of work.

Police paid the man a visit at his home. He told them he had deleted her number from his phone and would not attempt to contact her again.
