One of two suspects arrested in the theft of $40,000 in Silverware from a home in The Villages, has been released on bond.

Zenon Szynkler, 39, walked out of the Sumter County Detention Center at 1:18 a.m. Sunday after positing $2,000  bond. He is facing a charge of public order crimes.

Szynkler had been at the wheel of a Dodge Durango at about 2 p.m. Friday suspiciously cruising the streets of the Village of Winifred. A watchful resident suspected wrongdoing and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was summoned. After trying to evade the deputy, Szynkler was pulled over on Walden Way and produced a Polish passport as his means of identification. He tried to convince the deputy he was staying at a Tampa hotel and was looking for a place to fish within the Village of Winifred, where the only body of water is the swimming pool.

Meanhile, Szynkler’s alleged cohort, 36-year-old Adamo Czerner, slipped over to Laurel Manor Recreation Center and tried to blend in, but was apprehended thanks to the sheriff’s office’s bloodhound.

Czerner is being held without bond on charges of burglary, larceny and public order crimes.

On Saturday morning, deputies returned to the scene and retrieved the silverware and a crowbar in shrubbery near the home on Kingston Way from which the silverware was taken.

The Durango, rented in Miami, has been linked to another attempted burglary in The Villages.
