To the Editor:
I am saddened to hear when a precious little dog is snatched by a wild coyote and carried off to die a very frightened, painful death. Not to mention the horrified, shocked owner of the beloved pet. I have an adorable, sweet 12-pound mini dachshund and I am now very aware of my surroundings when walking her on a short leash. I have a courtyard villa so she is mostly protected and does not spend much time outside, but I am still on guard. I feel that the Fish and Game should put out traps, where coyotes are prowling in our neighborhoods, and take them back to their natural home in the forests far away from The Villages where they won’t be a danger to our pets.
