Ralph Graydon Turner

Ralph Graydon Turner, passed from this life, Monday, December 4, 2017 at the age of 82. He was born in Kilbourne, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Fred and Helen (O’Brien) Turner.

Ralph was a graduate of Edison High School in Miami, and Stetson University in Deland, Florida receiving his B.A. in Social Sciences, he was a recipient of outstanding student awards. While living in Deland, Ralph became a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He went on to attend the University of Florida Law School from 1959-1962 and Florida Trust School 1977-1979.
Ralph worked in Banking Trust Departments for over 30 years. He last worked as Senior Trust Administrator at First Union Bank (formerly Southeast Bank), Miami, Florida from 1981-1993. Ralph was President of Corporate Fiduciaries Association of Southeast Florida, Inc. for 1978-1979 and Director of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami for 1990-1992.
Ralph was a member of the Lions’ Club, Boy Scouts Council, Toastmasters, Chambers of Commerce, and Kiwanis Club of Miami.

Ralph was respected and loved by all who met him. He knew no strangers. Thank you to all the health care professionals, employees and transportation at The Springs Assisted Living Facility.

Brother to his surviving three sisters, Ruth Turner Bond, Los Angeles, California, Irene Turner Banks, Melbourne Beach, Florida, Sandra Turner Hanson, The Villages, Florida and one surviving sister-in-law Margaret Turner, Sugarland, Texas. He was predeceased by his two brothers Frances Edward Turner, Zellwood, Florida and Robert William Turner, Miami, Florida.
Ralph never married. His nieces and nephews became Ralph’s children. He was “Uncle Ralph” to Mitchell Banks, Jason Banks, Holly Banks-Harley, Teri Turner-Pickin, the late Robert (Bobby) Turner, Jr., Michael Turner, Lisa Bond, Jill Hanson Leskow, and Julie Hanson Brannen. And great “Uncle Ralph” to their children. He was predeceased by his long term high school friend, Richard Chapman and survived by his best friend forever, Mary Ann Chapman, and his helper and friend, Stephen Carpenter.

A visitation will be held at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m.
