Red Sox Nation to gather and reminisce about growing up as New England sports fans

Baby Boomers seem to enjoy reminiscing about the old days. They especially like to talk about old movies and music and above all their beloved sports teams.

The Red Sox Nation will hold its August meeting Aug. 17 at the SeaBreeze Recreation Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will feature sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A and beverages available, a 60/40 raffle, merchandise, trips, free library books and fundraiser cruise information.

Another item on the agenda will probably prove to be very popular.

Members can relate their stories about their athletic experiences growing up as a New England sports fan. They will be able to share their experiences with the others in attendance.

“It will basically be first-hand experiences from places they have been and people they have actually known,” said Lou Emond, membership chairman of Red Sox Nation. “This meeting gives members to get a chance to meet other members. We have 1,300 members and during the winter it is hard to meet all the other members.”
