The release of an accident report is offering more details about a car that left the roadway and crashed into a tree Thursday afternoon on County Road 466.

The driver of a four-door silver 2013 Lexus had been traveling west at about 50 miles per hour when his vehicle jumped the curb and struck a tree in the 500 block of County Road 466 not far from the Village of La Zamora gate, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The driver of the car has been identified as 74-year-old Gary James Dupuis of Leesburg. He told police he did not remember what had happened. His wife, who had been a passenger in the vehicle, told police her husband said he was not feeling well, he passed out and his foot hit the gas pedal, the report indicated.

They were both transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
