Rella Mae Killingsworth Sroufe, age 86, of Zanesville, Ohio and The Villages, Florida, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mamie Turner and Lemuel Sherman Killingsworth. Rella graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS in Business Administration and Psychology.

She was a member of Saint James Episcopal Church of Zanesville and attended Saint George Episcopal church in The Villages. She was a long time member of The Board of Directors and Treasurer of The Zanesville Art Museum; served on the Board of the Zanesville Non-profit Daycare center; and member of the Board of Head Start; Advisory Board of Genesis Medical Center and a long time member of The Authors Club. She served for ten years as Clerk of the Board of Muskingum County Commissioners and was a member of the Zanesville Country Club. In life, she especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Bill Sroufe, children Mark Vernon Sroufe of Columbus, Ohio, daughter Kelly Elizabeth Smythe, son-in-law Bruce Smythe, grandchildren Quintessa Smythe, Gordon Smythe and Kathryn Smythe, all of Sutton, Mass. and her sister, Helen June Daniel of Denver, Colo. Since 2000 she resided in The Villages, FL and cherished her many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3 p.m. with a gathering of friends and family to follow until 5 p.m., located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159
