Renate H. ‘Renee’ Horeth

Renate H. “Renee” Horeth, 81, The Villages, FL, passed from this life Friday, September 25, 2015. Born in Detmold, Germany she was the daughter of the late Walter and Alma (Luke) Strohmeier. Renee was a loving and dedicated wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother. She took great pride in her marriage of 60 years to her husband John and their family. In her earlier years she was the manager of the Americana Hotel in Rochester, NY. She met many famous personalities there, among them, former and late President Richard Nixon. Renee enjoyed sports and played golf, tennis and bowling. She was an avid New York Rangers and New York Jets fan. Her favorite time of year was Thanksgiving. She enjoyed cooking and spending that special time with her family. Renee was also possessed exceptional skill in the art of knitting. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages. Renee is survived by her husband John Horeth, son, Gregory Horeth and wife Diane of Winfield, IL, daughter, Brenda Bosley and husband Steven of Rochester, NY, a sister, Kathy Miller of Brunswick, ME, three grandchildren, Christopher Horeth, Bradley Horeth and wife Bre and Ashlyn Horeth and one great grandson, Kellan. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Service, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages at 11 a.m. The family will receive relatives and friends at a gathering to be held one hour prior to the Service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation at:(donate@copdfoundation.org)
