Residents of the Hillcrest Villas unhappy with leftovers from recent roadwork

Residents of the Hillcrest Villas in the Village of Hadley are unhappy with recent roadwork.

The residents have complained to Community Development District 7 Chairman Ron McMahon who raised the issue at Thursday’s monthly board meeting.

The roadwork has left behind driveway marks and tales of residents getting material on their shoes and tracking it into their homes.

The Nov. 28 roadwork has created “angst” in the villas, McMahon said.

Residents are afraid the treadmarks on their driveways won’t wash off. McMahon, a resident of Hillcrest Villas, described one neighbor who had tried to use cleanser and a scrub brush to get rid of the treadmarks, with no success.

Sam Wartinbee of District Property Management said many of the problems are created by residents who don’t follow instructions left on doorknockers at their home before the work takes place.

Residents are instructed not to run their irrigation systems, to drive very slowly over the new roadwork and not to walk on it for for 24 hours.

“It will wear off,” Wartinbee said.

Earlier this year, CDD 8 supervisors heard similar complaints from residents of the Biscayne Villas. You can read more about that HERE
