Returning snowbird comes home to find items missing from her residence

A snowbird recently returned to her home at Del Webb Spruce Creek and found some items missing.

The 76-year-old, who had been up north since May, returned home and first noticed that shoes in her closet had been rearranged, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

She later found that a gold bracelet worth $1,000 was missing. A door to a free-standing jewelry case had been left open, but none of the jewelry was missing. The jewelry would have easily been determined to be costume jewelry, the report indicated. A fire safe kept under a bed had been entered, but it contained mostly foreign money and military medals which had also been left in place.

A red lobster decoration which had been hanging on the wall was also removed, the report indicated.
