Richard A. ‘Dick’ Cunningham

Richard A. ‘Dick’ Cunningham died at home in The Villages, FL on Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island October 24, 1934, son of the late Alexander and Signe Cunningham. He leaves his wife of 58 years Ann Cunningham, two sons Richard Cunningham, Jr. and John Cunningham, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Alexander Cunningham. Dick graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1956 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve in 1956 and served in the Engineer Corps for 8 years. During a 44 year career in the chemical sales industry, Dick worked for Mobil Oil Company, Mallinckrodt Chemical Works and later in his career served as a Vice President of Sales at JF Donovan Co. in Providence, RI and Manager of Product Development for Borden and Remington Corporation in Fall River, MA. Dick was a 50 year Master Mason of Harmony Lodge No.9, F. &A.M. Cranston, Rhode Island. He was a member of the Chemical Club of New England, Academy of Model Aeronautics, and The University of Rhode Island Alumni. Dick was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his wife and family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations for wounded veterans to the organization On Behalf, 223 E 88th St #3A, New York, New York 10128 or at www.onbehalf.org. A graveside service will be held at a future date in Massachusetts.
