Rita Marie Grier, 70, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Saturday, April 30, 2016.
Born in Dayton, OH she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Marian (Wolff) Gaeke.
Rita was a retired legal secretary. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She along with her husband Stephen came to The Villages from Dayton, OH in 2004.
She enjoyed socializing with her friends and neighbors as well as playing cards, bunco and mahjong.
Besides her parents, Rita was predeceased by a brother Thomas Gaeke.
She leaves her beloved husband of 39 years, Stephen E. Grier; a son, Matthew Grier, his wife Susanne; granddaughter, Ellis Grier, all of Bargersville, IN and sister, Janet Essington and husband, William of Little Elm, TX.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, Summerfield, FL at 10 a.m. A Memorial Mass will also be celebrated on June 9, 2016 at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Avenue, Kettering, OH at Noon.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, c/o The Villages Hospice House 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
