Robert C. ‘Bob’ Desbrow, 74, of The Villages, Florida passed away on June 26, 2014, surrounded by his wife, Marguerite, daughter, Darlene, and sister-in-law, Mary Geraghty. He was born on September 2, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to The Villages, FL from San Antonio, TX two years ago. Bob was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. He was a volunteer for Operation Shoebox. He was an avid San Antonio Spurs and Florida State fan. Robert is survived by his wife, Marguerite M. Desbrow, The Villages, FL, daughter, Darlene Desbrow, San Antonio, TX, brother, Earl Desbrow, Dover, DE, and two sisters, Judy Helmke, Pembroke Pines, FL, Betty Bray, Miami Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael R. Desbrow, Sgt., USAF. The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Shoebox.
