Robert H. Figler, 83, of The Villages, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Born in Rochester, NY, Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from the University of Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Figler, his four children; Linda Figler-Lagana, Leslie Figler-Glapa (Stan), Robert Figler Jr. (Lea Thomas), David Figler (Donna); and seven grandchildren; Christina Lagana, Stephen Lagana, Collin Figler, Elena Figler, Cailee Figler, Sophia Figler, and Gabriella Glapa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, with a prayer service at 4:30 PM, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 8:30 AM, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, The Villages. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
