Robert T. Honohan, 83, of The Villages, Florida, passed away in his home on November 7, 2015 after a valiant struggle with metastatic melanoma. He was the husband of Eileen Hohohan for 17 years. Born in Amityville, New York he was a son of the late William and Mary Honohan. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He was a devoted member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL where he served as a Eucharistic Minister; Minister to the sick, a Sacristan, and a member of the Respite Committee. But most of all he was committed to serving the poor and needy through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Prior to his retirement he was the founding President of Honohan Sales, a Manufacturer’s Sales Representative company. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling, as well as, reading. He was a sports enthusiast and loved the New York Giants and the Tampa Bay Rays. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife: Eileen and sons: Robert P Honohan and his wife Bernadine of Southbridge, MA; Daniel Honohan and his wife Teresa of Easton, PA, and Patrick W Honohan and his wife Lourdes of Whitehall, PA. He was the grandfather of Kimberly, Daniel, Samantha, Dylan, Melissa, Krystal and Shayla. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 3 – 5 p.m. at The Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, Fl 32159. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 7081 SE Highway 42, Summerfield, FL 34491. Interment will be at The Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Contributions in Bob’s memory may be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o St. Mark the Evangelist Church.
