Robert Wayne ‘Bob’ Hornbuckle

Robert ‘Bob’ W. Hornbuckle, 70, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday, October 5, 2015 in The Villages, FL. Bob was a devoted husband and an incredible father and grandfather to his four sons and 7 grandchildren. He was born in Abilene, TX, the son of the late Vella (Walker) and Hollis Raydeene Hornbuckle. Bob was a Sargent in the U.S Marine Corps who served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. Bob and his wife Betsy raised their family in Chalfont, PA where he was always very involved in the community. Whether it be coaching his son’s baseball teams or building a playground for the local school Bob was always available to lend a helping hand. Bob retired as a lineman from Philadelphia Electric Company before moving to Clermont, FL. in 2004. Bob finally found his paradise when moving to his playground known as The Villages, FL in 2006 where he was an avid golfer, dog whisperer, and handyman to all of his neighbors who soon became friends. Bob has always been an inspiration to his four boys and a proud “PapaBear”. His smile and southern hospitality will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Elizabeth (Healy) Hornbuckle. His four sons: Robert W. Hornbuckle Jr and his wife Colleen; their children Alexis and Cole of Hoschton, GA. Bryan Hornbuckle of Sarasota, FL and his son Evan of Cape Coral, FL. Bradley Hornbuckle and his wife Lisa; their children Timothy, Nicholas, and Julie of Blandon, PA. Blaine Hornbuckle and his wife Helen; their daughter Hannah of Hastings, MN. Preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Hornbuckle and Jerry Hornbuckle. A Memorial Service will be held at New Life Christian Church at 4707 E CR462, Wildwood, FL 34785 on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a small reception. A Graveside Service will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 2 p.m. with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Life Christian Church “Building Fund”.
