Ronald Lee Glesne, 79, The Villages, FL, passed from this life Saturday, February 28, 2015. Born in Elkader, Iowa he was the son of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Haug) Glesne. A graduate of the University of Iowa, he spent two years in the U. S. Army in the late 1950’s. Ron was a long time proprietor of Glesne Sales in the Minneapolis, MN area specializing in automotive parts as a manufacturer’s agent. He enjoyed boating on Lake Minnetonka and following retirement in 1998, moved with his wife Gloria to The Villages, FL. He was most proud of his marriage of 47 years to his wife Gloria and their family. Ron enjoyed golf and volunteered as a member of The Villages Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). He was a volunteer judge for The Villages Senior Games and Villages High School track team. He served as treasurer of The Villages Republican Club, was a church usher and a shriner. Ron leaves his wife, Gloria Glesne, daughter Michelle Sween and grandsons Nicholas and Michael Sween all of Chaska, MN and brothers, Jack Glesne (Eve) of Golden, CO and Gene Glesne (Judy) of Omaha, NE. A Memorial Service will be held in North Lake Presbyterian Church, Lady Lake, FL on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN in June of this year. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, North Lake Presbyterian Church or The Villages CERT Team.
