Russ Ramer, 86, of The Villages, Florida, passed away in the comfort of his home on Thursday, January 19, 2017. He was born in Indiana and raised his family in the Fort Wayne area. Russ was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a competitive golfer, inline skater and enjoyed the open road. Russ has lived in The Villages for 17 years and was proud to call it home.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Donna Ramer; son Michael Ramer (Natalie); daughters Diane Rayfield (Ken) and Teresa Ramer (Kendra); brother Ron Ramer (Marsha); granddaughter Ariel Ramer and 2 grandchildren Justin and Marissa.
He is preceded in death by his parents Merle and Modell Ramer; 3 sisters and 1 brother.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m., located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 1 p.m., located at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
