Sally Van Husan Wiler, age 75, of The Villages, FL, formally of Battle Creek, MI died January 18, 2017. Her son and daughter were by her side. Sally the daughter of Harold and Marguerite (Wyatt) Van Husan was born April 21, 1941 in Sturgis MI. She graduated from Bronson High school in 1959. On August 12, 1961 she married her high school sweetheart Darian Wiler and moved to Battle Creek MI. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband on February 25, 2006. Sally attended Western Michigan University. She worked at Wrights Beauty Academy as a hair dresser. In 1974 she started working at Calhoun Area Vocational Center as an Instructor of Cosmetology. She was the Jr year instructor then later became head of the department until she retired in 1995.
In 1998 Sally and Dar decided to leave the Michigan winters behind and moved to The Villages, FL where they enjoyed playing golf and the warm weather. Sally enjoyed traveling, golfing, tennis and spending time with family, friends and her grandson Dylan. You could usually find Sally somewhere in The Villages singing with her friends from the Karaoke club. Surviving are one son, Eric Wiler of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Shaun Wiler of Palm Harbor, FL; one grandson, Dylan Wiler of Vancouver, WA; her brother, Robert (Onnolee) Van Husan of Dowagiac, MI, and several nieces and nephews. Sally is also survived by her companion, Charlie Zambito.
There will be a celebration of Sally’s life on Sunday, February 12th from 2 – 4 p.m. at The Waterfront Inn in The Villages FL.
