Santa, local students ‘Light up Lady Lake’

Hundreds of local students, parents, and community leaders gathered outside of the log cabin in Lady Lake to light up the city as part of their annual ‘Light up Lady Lake’ event.

Students from the Villages Elementary of Lady Lake School entertained the crowd with some of their favorite holiday tunes.

Mayor Jim Richards, Commissioner Ruth Kussard, and representatives from Congressman Daniel Webster’s office were all present for the holiday light ceremony.

As rainy weather drew closer, the children were interrupted by police sirens during one of their songs.

The police sirens were part of an escort for Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and their sleigh.

After arriving in style, Santa started the official countdown until the sky was lit up with thousands of multi-colored lights.

Check back in the coming days for our full-length video tour of the lights out at the Lady Lake log cabin.

Interested in seeing the lights yourself? You can visit any night through the upcoming holiday season!
