Scott Hinkle, 91, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Friday, May 20, 2016. Born in Mount Cory, OH, he was the son of the late Ray and Rosa (McElroy).
Scott was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a tool & die maker and partner in the George Hansen Co. of Franklin Park, IL.
Scott was the Hinkle family patriarch and organizer of the Hinkle family reunion held yearly for the past 60 years in Warsaw, IN.
He along with his wife Carrie came to The Villages from Chicago, IL in 1997.
Scott was an avid golfer and a member of American Legion Post #347, Lady Lake, FL.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carrie (Hansen) Hinkle; daughters, Margaret Rose Frueh (Bill) of Golden, CO; Karen S. Merritt (Norman) of Columbia, MO; four grandchildren, Jennifer Sigmon, Natalie Sigmon, Matthew Sigmon and Rachel Smith; two great grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Soliday, Lake Geneva, WI.
Funeral Services will be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Scott’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
