A resident of Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club has been reunited with his golf cart stolen from his garage.
It was the second theft of a golf cart this week in the gated community in Summerfield. You can read about the first of the two golf cart thefts HERE
Darrell Green’s golf cart was stolen from his garage sometime Tuesday night. He believes he may have left his garage door up.
The thief apparently drove the golf cart out of Spruce Creek but the electric Club Car ran out of juice while the thief was on the run. The thief then ditched Green’s golf cart at Golf Carts and More at 13315 S. Hwy. 441 in Summerfield.
There the thief selected a blue 2005 EZ-GO golf cart and fled the scene.
That golf cart has striped weather curtains and a lift kit with knobby tires, according to a report filed with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
A manager at Golf Carts and More reported his EZ-GO golf cart as stolen. He told a deputy he had no idea how the Club Car had mysteriously shown up at his business.
